Cleaning & Maintenance
Unlock greater value for your investment and enhance the longevity of your furniture with these valuable tips:
UV Protection: These outdoor chairs are UV stabilised to prolong the colour of your chairs and to prevent it going brittle. To prolong the life of this item, avoid prolonged exposure to the elements and store inside or under cover when not in use.
Avoid Sharp Objects: Be cautious to avoid sharp objects or rough surfaces that could potentially scratch or damage your polypropylene furniture.
Mould Prevention: Ensure proper ventilation and avoid placing your furniture in damp, shaded areas to prevent the growth of mould and mildew. If mould or mildew does appear, clean it promptly using a mixture of water and a mild detergent. Rinse thoroughly and allow the chairs to dry completely.
Avoid Extreme Temperatures: While polypropylene is generally resistant to temperature extremes, avoid direct contact with extremely hot surfaces or prolonged exposure to freezing temperatures.
Stacking & Table Top Care: Do not place chairs on tables to avoid scratching your tables. Opt for space-saving stackable chairs that you can easily store. Stack chairs only to the recommended quantity.
PU SEAT
- Spot clean any spillages immediately. Wipe with a clean cloth using warm soapy water – wring cloth tightly before wiping and dry thoroughly.
Avoid keeping the chair in direct sunlight.
Regularly dust seat and frame to avoid dust build up. Avoid any harsh or abrasive cleaning products.
Suitable for indoor use only.

POLYPROPYLENE FURNITURE
- Polypropylene chairs have a surface, and inherent properties that don’t hold onto dirt and grime.
Simply wipe with a damp microfibre cloth (or use a mild soapy solution and water) on a regular basis.
You can also simply hose off any surface dirt and debris with a garden hose set to a gentle setting.
**HANDY TIP: Mr Sheen is perfect for a handy clean on polypropylene furniture – just spray and wipe!
Avoid using harsh chemicals, solvents or abrasive cleaners such as hard brushes or scouring pads, as they can scratch the surface of the polypropylene.
Never apply undiluted bleach on plastic furniture.
TIMBER CHAIR
- Dust regularly with a soft damp cloth, wiping with the grain of the timber. As with any natural materials, prolonged exposure to heat sources will cause wood to dry out. Maintain at least 60cms between your timber furniture and direct heat source. All finishes will fade over time. This process can be slowed down by placing furniture out of direct sunlight. Avoid extreme temperature and humidity conditions.
FABRIC SEAT
- Regularly vacuum to remove dust and debris, and spot clean stains using a damp cloth with mild soap or a gentle upholstery cleaner, blotting instead of rubbing. Avoid using harsh chemicals or bleach.
Always test cleaning products on an area under the seat (not seen) before using across the whole of the seat.
For extra protection we recommend the use of 3M Scotchgard Fabric And Upholstery Protector.

ALUMINIUM AND E-COATED STEEL FURNITURE
- The beauty of aluminium and E-coated steel furniture is its durability, lightweight, rust resistance and low maintenance, making it an ideal choice for Australian outdoor dining.
To clean use mixture of mild soap detergent (a dash of washing liquid will be fine) and water and simply wipe with a cloth, sponge or use a hose. After washing, thoroughly rinse with water. For stubborn stains (such as bird droppings, tree gum), apply a 1:1 mixture of white vinegar and water to the stain, let it sit for 10 minutes, then gently wipe and rinse thoroughly. Avoid using bleach, abrasive chemicals, steel wool, hard brushes, waxes or polishes and as they can damage the product.
If using a power washer avoid using high-pressure as this may damage the powder coating. Wipe all spills immediately, particularly red wine, sauce or food with strong colour dyes.
